Ingredients

  • 1 package pre-made pie dough sheets
  • 1 jar apple butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp water

For the Glaze

  • 1 c powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 F
  • Unroll your pie dough sheets and cut into rectangles in your desired pop tart size. Making sure you have an even amount of tops and bottoms.
  • Place 1 Tablespoon of apple butter onto the center of your bottom pieces and spread it out making sure to keep it away from the edges.
  • Place your top piece of dough on top, and using the end of a fork push the edges together all the way around to get to sides to stick.
  • Mix together your egg yolk and water to make an egg wash and then brush a little onto the tops of each pop tart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the tops are slightly browned.
  • Once baked, let them cool completely before adding the glaze on top.

For the Glaze

  • Mix together your powdered sugar, milk and cinnamon until well combined.
  • You want the glaze to be thin enough that you can drizzle it on but not think like water. You can add more milk or powdered sugar to help thin out or thicken your glaze to the desired consistency.

Notes

Our pop tarts were roughly 4'' x 2.5'' and we were able to get 6 our of 1 box of pie dough sheets.
