Apple Cider Coffee Cake Donuts

Light and fluffy baked apple donuts topped with a delicious crumble and a sweet glaze!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 TBS melted butter unsalted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup apple cider

Crumble

  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 TBS granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 TBS brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice
  • 2 1/2 TBS melted butter

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 TBS milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F and spray your donut pan with cooking spray

For the crumble

  • Mix all crumble ingredients together in a bowl until it is combined and looks like clumpy sand. Set aside

For the donuts

  • In a large bowl mix together the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix together the wet ingredients. Fold the wet mixture into the dry mixture until smooth and combined.
  • Pipe the batter into your donut molds.
  • Divide the crumble topping among the donuts.
  • Bake for 10-11 minutes.

For the glaze

  • Combine all glaze ingredients together until smooth. For thinner icing add more milk. For thicker, add more sugar

Assembly

  • Once the donuts are cool, drizzle the glaze on top
