Author The Cupcake Chronicles

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 Cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi sweet

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer beat the softened butter with the sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix until combined. Scrape the sides of the bowl.
  • In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking soda and cornstarch.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Using a cookie scoop evenly distribute the down on your cookie sheet. Give the dough some space to spread out as it bakes. Before you put the dough in the oven, place more chocolate chips, or chocolate chunks on top of each dough ball.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges start to brown.
  • Once you take them out of the oven, slam the pan against the counter to flatten out the cookies (this is optional).
  • Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the tray before moving to a wire rack.
